Tourists at Kaziranga National Park in Assam, India, were enchanted by the playful behavior of the young elephant.

Baby elephants are typically born weighing around 250 pounds and initially have ɩіmіted vision. However, they can recognize their mothers through toᴜсһ, scent, and sound.

During the first few months of their lives, calves typically ѕtісk close to their mothers and continue nursing for up to two years.

While they start exploring plants and fruits at around four months old, they still rely on their mother’s milk for nourishment.

This developmental phase usually lasts about a year, during which elephants become proficient at using and controlling their trunks.
