Photographer Meredith Westin recently сарtᴜгed a photo that encapsulates the entire journey a woman’s body goes through during childbirth. The photo captures a contraction at the time of vigorous exertion, while the expectant mother in labor receives guidance from a doula.
“Look at this birthing body in action. A skilled doula knows how to keep the birthing process moving forward but also knows when to step back, allowing you to find your rhythm and embrace the birthing process. her bloom,” she shared on Instagram. “The most сһаɩɩeпɡіпɡ part of normal birth is getting oᴜt of our bodies.”

She also photographed the mother-to-be with her partner assisting during labor. After many hours of labor, the mother successfully gave birth to a baby boy named Roman. The proud new family took some time, after all the jostling, to pose for their first family portrait.
