When the young are left alone in the wild, they often face countless challenges, unable to fend for themselves without the guidance and care of their mothers. If abandoned by their mother or herd, these cubs endure hardships such as dehydration, hunger, and danger from predators and humans. While some people can hold out until they get help, unfortunately, not all of them make it through on their own.
Thankfully, Hunter, the adorable cub, did not suffer a tragic fate. Born at The Farm Inn hotel, a wildlife sanctuary in Pretoria, South Africa, Hunter’s mother displayed aggressive behavior towards him just days after giving birth, eventually rejecting him. This caused both physical and emotional pain to the helpless tiger cub. Anthea Michaletos, a volunteer at the sanctuary, suspects that Hunter was born during a time when his mother felt vulnerable, leading to her abandonment of him.
Luckily, Hunter found solace in an adorable German Pointer puppy named Chelsea. The two instantly form an unbreakable friendship, proving that true friendship has no boundaries in shape and size.
The Farm Inn, the source of the touching images, has seen Hunter and Chelsea, two just three weeks apart, develop a strong bond. They enjoy the company of each other, sharing activities such as eating, sleeping, and playing together. Among their favorite pastimes is wrestling, where they playfully push and jump on top of each other. The playful duo, a tiger cub and a puppy, delight their caregivers with loads of fun.
Chelsea proved herself to be a loyal friend to Hunter, never forgetting to visit his cage every morning to say hello. Their relationship is very strong, as Hunter even felt sad when they had to part. Sadly, their friendship may not last long due to Hunter’s age limit, but for now, they’re still best friends.
